Weekly Hitter Rankings: Rocks on Top in Final Week

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

While these tables are still useful this week, the range associated with the numbers is significant. It's best to consider your matchups on an individual basis, looking at the likelihood playoff-bound batters get some time off, etc.

The quality of opponent index should especially be downplayed this week as pitchers on teams already in the postseason may not pitch deep into games, if they even pitch at all toward the end of the week.

With that said, 13 teams play seven games. The rest play six, except the Reds who play five. For some reason, MLB scheduled a pair of off days the last week of the season for Cincinnati.

The Rockies are in store for a big week. Not only are they home for seven games, the majority, if not all will mean something. The Astros are in good shape as well, traveling to a couple good hitting parks while facing some weak pitching. However, unless they totally collapse, they should clinch the AL West early in the week, enabling A.J. Hinch to rest some regulars before the playoffs.

For the week, Sept. 24 – Sept. 30
