Yahoo DFS Hockey: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We've got seven NHL games on the slate for you. Here are some players to target, and avoid, for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Anton Khudobin, DAL vs. VAN ($32): With Ben Bishop banged up, Khudobin is scheduled to be in net for this game. Not that the drop off is that big, as the Russian goalie has posted a 2.54 GAA and .925 save percentage. Plus, he's getting to play a Canucks team that has only managed 2.68 goals per game on offense.

GOALIE TO AVOID

Jake Allen, STL at BUF ($36): Both the Sabres and Blues are on the second day of a back-to-back, but the Blues are the ones stuck on the road. Plus, even if Allen has played a little better recently, he still has a .904 save percentage this season. At this price, his performance doesn't stack up.

CENTER

Carl Soderberg, COL vs. NJD ($14): Soderberg's scoring has dropped a bit recently, but he also has Mikko Rantanen on his wing now, which should bode well for him. Plus, he's tallied 21 goals and 22 assists on the season. Meanwhile, the Devils have slumped to an NHL second-worst 3.95 road GAA.

CENTER TO AVOID

Elias Pettersson, VAN at DAL ($22): Finally, Pettersson has shown a smidge of regression, with only two goals over his last 16 games. Now he faces a Stars team that sports a 2.29 GAA at home, lowest in the league.

WING

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK vs. EDM ($20): Marchessault is a prolific shooter, with 245 shots on net in 71 games. He's also averaged 2:46 per game with the extra man, accumulating 14 power-play points. The Oilers, who are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, have the 30th-ranked penalty kill. That bodes well for Marchessault.

David Perron, STL at BUF ($18): Perron returned from a lengthy absence Saturday, notching an assist in his return. That gives him 36 points in 46 games. He picked a good time to get back on the ice, as the Sabres have recorded a woeful 3.76 GAA since the All-Star break.

WINGS TO AVOID

Leon Draisaitl, EDM at VGK ($31): This isn't so much about Draisaitl's play, as he's had a great season. However, the Oilers are on the road for the second day of a back-to-back. On top of that, Vegas has managed a 2.43 GAA at home. Draisaitl is the most-expensive wing Sunday, so there are better values out there given his matchup.

Alexander Radulov, DAL vs. VAN ($26): Radulov has done a lot of his damage on the power play, with 16 points with the extra man. However, only three of those points have come over his last 25 games - all assists. Meanwhile, Jacob Markstrom has played some of his best hockey recently. Over his last 20 outings, the Swede has posted a 2.55 GAA and .923 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Colton Parayko, STL at BUF ($19): Parayko has picked up five points in his last six games, including three with the extra man. None of them have been goals, but he has put 165 shots on net in 71 contests. As previously noted, the Sabres have a 3.76 GAA since the All-Star break. That's highest in the NHL, and now they are on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Nate Schmidt, VGK vs. EDM ($18): Schmidt has played some fine hockey since the beginning of February. He has contributed with five goals and five assists from his last 19 games, giving him 27 points in 59 games on the season. The Oilers come in with a 3.25 road GAA, and as mentioned earlier are on the road for their second game in as many days.

DEFENSE TO AVOID

Alexander Edler, VAN at DAL ($20): Edler has looked good since returning from injury, but this is a tough matchup. As I noted previously, the Stars have excelled with a 2.29 home GAA. The Stars also rank fifth on penalty kill, and 10 of Edler's 23 points have come with the extra man.

Justin Schultz, PIT vs. PHI ($20): Schultz has only played in 19 games this season, but it's still notable that he only has one goal, and has only directed 26 shots on net. Yes, the Flyers have a bad GAA on the season, but both Carter Hart and Brian Elliott are healthy now, so their goaltending situation has changed. Plus, the Penguins are playing their second game of a back-to-back, while the Flyers are well rested.
